We were going to look at the constellations that
have been associated with Taurus the bull - so why have you called this
scene: 'The world under siege'?

Okay, let’s start with the obvious. Orion faces Taurus, under which is Eridanus
the river of fire, while crouching in the background is Auriga the shepherd.
Guess who this reminds me of!....not a bull-fighter but David the
shepherd again, turning up at the battle only because his father sent him, then
telling king Saul that he slew a lion and a bear while keeping his father’s
sheep.
And what did we learn about Orion, especially
from looking at David’s magnificent Psalm 19?
Well, we found that brilliant Orion represents all constellations as ‘kesil’
or ‘strong man’ - a bridegroom as eager as a champion poised on the
starting blocks ready to run a blistering race, as illustrated by the passage
of the bright sun.
No prizes for realizing who that represents!
“…even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”
(1 Thessalonians 1:10)
So where do we find a river of fire in the Scriptures?(1 Thessalonians 1:10)
Daniel saw it issuing from the throne of the
‘Ancient of Days’ sitting in judgment (ch7 v10), and it gets a full description
in Isaiah 30, besides elsewhere:
“Behold the name of the Lord cometh from far, burning with his anger, and
the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue
as a devouring fire: and his breath as an overflowing stream, shall reach to
the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity….” and so on.
So that’s what’s in store for the nations of the world??....Whoa!! It reminds me of those poor sailors during the world wars, abandoning ship only to drown in a sea of burning oil .
How far does Eridanus stretch anyway?
How far does Eridanus stretch anyway?
Oh!...so no nation misses out, hey. What about godly people?...will they
cop it too?
This is where the comfort of Auriga fits. The brilliant yellow star Capella marks the heart of the goat that has born twins and all are
safely in the arms of the shepherd. Astrologers refer to Auriga as a charioteer but where’s
the chariot or even some reins? Remember we noticed that this ‘Mazzaroth’ lineup has a particular
relevance to what happens on Earth and God’s earthly people, Israel. Revelation
12 tells us that the godly remnant of Israel will experience divine protection.
This is supported by the Psalms, especially the famous 23rd and the
4th Book.
What about Christians?....I mean true Christians…
The Scriptures make it abundantly clear that the
true Church will not endure the wrath of God in the Tribulation as we saw in
our Rapture series:
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9)
“…I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon
all the world, to try them that dwell on the earth.” (Revelation 3:10)
No wonder the title is:
‘The world under siege’. It’s as if God will put the screws on everybody to force
them to choose or reject The Redeemer.
